January 2023 Product Updates

Proptech Releases to Look Out for in 2023

The future of proptech is becoming a reality. Last week, Genea shared its 2023 roadmap with audiences, previewing the upcoming releases for Submeter Billing, Overtime HVAC and Access Control. Product Director Matija Abicic led the conversation, presenting details about Genea’s planned features and integrations. Check out all the details below.

Highlights of Submeter Billing and Overtime HVAC

The webinar began with a recap of 2022 releases of Genea Submeter Billing and Overtime HVAC. Matija first shared statistics about Submeter Billing, a cloud-based solution that helps commercial real estate (CRE) teams automate their meter reading process, such as:

  • Over 37,000 networked and non-networked submeters were read.
  • 73 million meter reads were recorded.
  • Over 87,000 billing statements were produced.

Additionally, Genea released several features and updates that improved Submeter Billing, including an updated mobile app, Energy Analytics and Tenant Invoices.

During a demonstration of Tenant Invoices, Matija showed off the feature-rich platform’s invoice statements and ability to export PDFs and Excel files. Tenant managers and tenants both benefit from the dashboards as well.

Next, came Overtime HVAC – a cloud- based way for tenants in commercial buildings to request air conditioning and lighting outside of lease hours. Matija announced that the fourth generation of Overtime HVAC is being rolled out and the addition of API integrations.

“We plan to provide a way for any technology partner of ours…to integrate via APIs with Overtime HVAC. We understand [how important it is] for property managers to provide a single solution for their tenants where they can make use of all the technological amenities that the [provided],” Abicic said.

Tenant and building team dashboards come standard with each software.  Within the Overtime HVAC dashboard, Matija showed how to create a request, including:

  • Scheduling and customizing the request duration
  • Choosing a request type (recurring or one-time)
  • An estimated charge

Upon submitting the Overtime HVAC request, it is synced to the calendar with the time, building and person who submitted the request.

Genea Security and Visitor Management

The webinar transitioned to Genea Security and Visitor Management. In 2022, Genea launched over 40 new software features. Among these was Apple Wallet credentialing.

The integration gives users of iPhone and Apple Watch the ability to add their employee badge to Apple Wallet. Once the credential is added, the user may then enter their building or suite by showing the device to a card reader. Genea was the first to integrate with Apple Wallet. Custom Roles and Automated Custom Reports were two other significant releases for Genea Security. Custom Roles makes it possible to create a fully customizable end-user experience, role hierarchies and more. Automated Custom Reports gives users the ability to export unlimited unique reports and schedule email delivery.

Matija concluded the recap of Access Control by speaking about the integrations with hardware systems like, Assa Abloy and Shindler; mobile systems including STid and Wavelynx; and Rhombus, Ava, and Salient.

2023 Genea Roadmap

Genea will be busy in 2023 with a host of features and integrations. In Q1, it plans to release integrations with Arcules video management, Tyssen Krupp, Schlage and Cisco WebEx. As the year progresses, features like Bulk Badge Printing, Interactive Floor Plans and multilingual support will be added.
